East Yorkshire Judo Academy was founded in 2001 by senior international and Commonwealth medallist Daniel Kissenisky, along with fellow coaches Steve Shepherd and Dave Platten.
It has grown into a thriving community club and has a track-record of success, consistently developing players to national and international standards.
We cater to all levels, abilities and ages; from teaching primary school age children fundamental skills to coaching players on international performance pathways. East Yorkshire Judo Academy is a member of the British Judo Association and follows the safeguarding code of practice, Safer Landings.
All of our coaches are BJA qualified, DBS checked and hold First Aid and Child Protection certificates. The club's lead coach, Daniel Kissenisky, is a former England pathway coach and winner of the Hull Daily Mail coach of the Year Award. Performance coach, Steve Shepherd, has over 45 years’ experience in Judo and has a proven record of facilitating competitors to achieve results at national and international level.
We are also proud to introduce our other coaches in the coaches’ section.
